Help!!

UPDATE : The meeting unfortunately was cancelled. We have been asked not to send anymore emails. Thank you for your support.

Aloha to all of our amazing kitty supporters. We are in need of your help. Recently our signs at ABay were removed without notice. The Waikoloa Land Company along with the Resort Association had them removed. We rely on these signs for a number of reasons. First of all of course is to generate donations. We don't have a lot of ways to get our information out to the public and the signs provided that. The Kitties are 100% dependent on these donations for their food and medical care. We also use the signs as a nice way to ask visitors not to feed so the cats can learn to rely on us and trust us for their care.

We believe these groups are ill informed about the work we do and the benefits we provide the community. We have scheduled a meeting with them for this Wednesday May 4th so we can appeal their decision to remove our previously authorized signs.

The facts we are going to impress upon them are as follows:

By spaying, neutering and providing shots to all of the kitties we are stopping the spread of disease and stopping the reproduction of more unwanted litters. They are concerned the population is growing when in fact it's not. As the kitties pass over the rainbow bridge there will be no growing litters to take their place.

By providing food and water on a daily basis in one location it keeps the kitties from wandering, begging and hunting. They no longer need to kill native birds or even each other to survive. Many are seniors and will live out their days peacefully in their big tree.

By requesting visitors not feed the kitties we are cutting out unnecessary litter.

We have eliminated feeding wet food so as not to draw unwanted rodents and bugs and always take our garbage as well as any we find at the feeding location with us when we leave.

Visitors make seeing the kitties a part of their trip. Some come every year. We have met visitors who make a point of bringing treats every day of their trip. If these kitties were gone there are a lot of visitors and residents who would be very upset.

Of course one of our main points will be that the kitties rely on visitor and resident donations to survive and without our signs we can't get the word out.

Thank you for your support! Mahalo, Meowww & Purrrrr
